SELECTION PROCEDURE FOR CORE GROUP
1. A maximum of 4 boxers per weight category in the 11 weight categories will be selected to be part of the Core Group.
2. The boxers in the Core Group are selected based on their performances at National Championships, All India Championships, International Boxing Competitions and their inherent potential to achieve peak performances during Commonwealth Games New Delhi in October 2010. The names of boxers in the Core Group and their achievements are given under the heading ‘Core Group Boxers’.
3. The Coaches and the Supporting Staff in the Core Group are selected on the basis of their Boxing Coaching credentials, capabilities and availability to be in the National Coaching Camp throughout the Year. The names of Coaches and Supporting Staffin the Core Group and their credentials are given under the heading ‘ Core Group Coaches’.
4. The performances of Boxers in the Core Group will be reviewed every six months or on ‘as required basis’ and the Selection Committee of IABF will recommend additions / deletions of names of Boxers to the Steering Committee. Based on the above recommendations, the Steering Committee may consider change of names of Boxers in the Core Group. The same rules apply to the Coaches and Supporting Staff also.
