Dear Friends, Colleagues and Well Wishers of Boxing !

It gives me immense pleasure to welcome you to the Official Website of Indian Boxing Federation (IABF). As you are aware, we at the IABF are striving in earnest to ensure that Indian Boxers win laurels and accolades for the Country at the International Boxing Tournaments.

Vijender Singh has done the Country proud by winning the Olympic Bronze Medal for India in the 104 years of Olympic Boxing. Akhil Kumar and Jitender Kumar made us hold our heads high with their sterling performances of reaching the quarter finals of Beijing Olympics with some scintillating display of talent and raw power. Ms Marykom has been the cynosure of Women’s Boxing as she won the World Championship Title for a record fourth time at the World Women’s Boxing Championsips at Ningbo, China in October 2008. Thokcham Nanao Singh was simply superb as he demolished his opponents with controlled aggression and perfect style in winning the World Youth Boxing Championship Title at Mexico in November 2008.

With plenty of International and National Boxing in store during 2009, it will certainly be a feast for the Indian Boxing afficianados, especially with the introduction of World Series Boxing by International Boxing Association. Although the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of  India has been our biggest sponsors as they help us with National Coaching Camps and foreign exposures for our boxers, IABF looks forward to more financial support from the Corporate houses to ensure that India wins more medals at the London Olympics 2012, Asian Games 2010, Commonwealth Games 2010 and World Championships.

Wishing the IABF family and all its boxers a very happy BOXING SEASON  during 2009 - 2010 !!!
